The BC200 is an SDI or DVB-ASI Transceiver. It handles two independent transport streams in opposite directions on two fibres. Channel A is an auto-sensing SDI optical transmitter and handles SD-SDI and ASI. It is a fully transparent, “data rate independent” transmitter. The incoming signal is line equalised and passed to the optical driver. The optical driver is factory configured for Multimode, Singlemode or CWDM performance to suit all fibre applications. There is also an active driven loop through.
Channel B is a SDI optical receiver. The optical input is fed through the PIN/TIA to a limiting amplifier and the signal is reclocked according to the signal format. The reclocking facility can be bypassed which allows “data rate independent” performance. Individual cable drivers drive two independent BNC connectors on the output. Both output signals are the correct orientation for the polar dependent DVB-ASI signal format.
All Bluebell cards are designed to retain maximum integrity of the signal path offering excellent jitter free optical transport. Careful attention has been paid to reduce thermal runaway, eliminating the need for forced air cooling as fan failure and overheating is the most common cause of failure in modern electronic systems. The BC200 occupies a single slot in the BC100-3RU 19" rack-mounting frame which can hold up to 15 single slot cards. Therefore up to 15 channels of video can be transmitted and received within a single 3RU frame. Signal and card monitoring is achieved through SNMP monitoring in the BM101 network card. Alternatively GP-Output alarms can be triggered via the BM100 module.
For stand alone applications the BC200 can be housed in an individual rugged enclosure.
