BC-12ADC is a Composite or Component Video to SD-SDI Converter. It accepts all formats of PAL and NTSC, decodes them and outputs to SDI using full 12-Bit digitization. The incoming signal is decoded to a parallel data stream. A micro controller looks after the setup functions. The parallel signal is then serialised and passed to an output driver. The output driver provides SD-SDI output.
Careful attention has been paid to reduce thermal runaway, eliminating the need for forced air cooling as fan failure and overheating is the most common cause of failure in modern electronic systems.
The BC12-ADC occupies a single slot in the BC100-3RU 19" rack-mounting frame which can hold up to 15 single slot cards. Some BC Series processing cards have dual functionality allowing up to 30 channels of video to be transmitted or received from a single 3RU frame. Signal and card monitoring is achieved through SNMP monitoring in the BM101 network card. Alternatively GP-Output alarms can be triggered via the BM100 module.
For stand alone applications the BC12-ADC can be housed in an individual rugged enclosure.
